CHAPTER TEN

Wisdom and Authority

The apostolic anointing for wisdom is something that should be sought after by all, and is vital to those desiring to move into the new things of God. With wisdom will come a new release of authority, both in natural things as well as spiritual. In order to properly use this authority, one must be rooted and grounded in the Word of God, intimately acquainted with the Lord Jesus Christ through prayer, and have in place some type of personal accountability or mentoring. Maintaining a mature balance in all these areas will help to assure a legitimate use of the authority that God gives.

Legislating From the Heavenlies

According to Ephesians 2:6, we have been seated together with Christ Jesus in heavenly places. It is from this position of rulership that we are to govern and legislate the things of the Spirit. This place is far above principalities and powers and those demonic princes that would attempt to rule from their place in the second heaven. It is time for us to realize that God has released the authority, anointing, and power to the Church to begin to execute His judgments in the earth and to enforce the victory that Jesus Christ achieved through His death, burial, and resurrection.

The anointing of “Judge” on this Deborah Company of Women will bring forth sound judgment on earth as well as the ability to shake the heavenlies with the authority of God, the Supreme Judge. We must have our own lives purified by the fire of His anointing, so that we do not move in judgment according to our own natural wisdom or personal agendas, but only according to that which is declared from the throne of God.

Dealing With Discernment

Several years ago, our ministry faced a very difficult situation dealing with an individual who led many people astray. I had always experienced a personal difficulty with this person, for though she was likeable and cordial to me, something within my spirit sent out warning signals that not all was as it seemed. Several of the leaders in the ministry prayed together after several families left us. We began to realize our great need for the gift of discerning of spirits and spiritual discernment to operate in our midst. Because I felt this gift was something God had already spoken to me, I asked for prayer that I would be able to understand how to administrate the gift He had given me.

After my husband and my spiritual father, Dr. Bill Hamon, laid their hands on me and released this gift in new measure, I began to see things with great clarity. I witnessed some things in the spirit realm and was able to determine what specific demonic entities we were fighting against, and how we could effectively battle through to victory. This seemed a bit intimidating; nonetheless, how to handle this aspect of the gift became very clear to me.

Much more difficult to deal with was discerning those things that were affecting men and women’s lives.
